Lockdown Laundry
A nation-wide community public art project set up for people to tell their lockdown stories and then peg these up for others to read.
Lockdown Laundry welcomed all New Zealanders to emerge from their bubbles to share their ups and downs with their community.
All memories shared were typed up on a typewriter and hung out to dry on the line for others to read, including during a roving 6 week exhibition in Wellington.
Between July 2020 and May 2021 Lockdown Laundry travelled the motu from Whangarei to Christchurch, Auckland to Westport & Wanaka, and many more places in between. Participants shared 750+ lockdown memories with their communities.
